APA APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVE OFFICERS
Member countries of the ASEAN Ports Association (APA) appointed its new set of officers for 2020-2021 during the Association’s 45th Meeting in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia on November 21-22, 2019.
The newly appointed officers are:
- Ms. Phanin Hei (Cambodia) – Chairperson
- Mr. Tran Khanh Hoang (Vietnam) – Vice-Chairman
- Mr. Men Chann (Cambodia) – Secretary-General
- Mr. Nguyen Uyen Minh (Vietnam) – Working Committee Chairman
- Ms. Dao Thi Thu Ha (Vietnam) – Honorary Auditor
The APA follows the system of rotation or cycle in the appointment of its Chairperson and the Vice-Chairperson following the order of succession of member countries. The new Executive Officers will hold a term for a period of two (2) years.
Moreover, pursuant to the APA Constitution, the Secretary-General is nominated by the Chairperson. Meanwhile, the Vice-Chairman nominates the Working Committee Chairman as well as the Honorary Auditor.
All member countries expressed their gratitude and compliments to the outgoing officers for their outstanding leadership and significant contributions to the Association. The outgoing officers were Mr. Muhammad Razif Bin Ahmad (Chairman) and Ms. Mimi Mazira Mohd Idris (Secretary-General). The Vice-Chairmanship/Working Committee Chairmanship and Honorary Auditor were formerly held by Ms. Phanin Hei and Mr. Men Chann, respectively.
